دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN) -- يستعد رئيس شركة الاتحاد للطيران للمغادرة، واستراتيجيته الطموحة للتوسع قد تكون التالية.

فقد أعلن مجلس إدارة "مجموعة الاتحاد للطيران" الثلاثاء، أن جيمس هوجن الرئيس والرئيس التنفيذي للمجموعة الذي سيغادر منصبه في النصف الثاني من العام الحالي ومجلس الإدارة اتخذا أولى خطوات العملية الانتقالية خلال شهر مايو الماضي مع تأسيس الهيكلية الجديدة للمجموعة.

وقال محمد مبارك بن فاضل المزروعي، رئيس مجلس إدارة مجموعة الاتحاد للطيران إن مجلس الإدارة وفريق الإدارة التنفيذية سيواصل إجراء مراجعة استراتيجية على مستوى الشركة وذلك بهدف المحافظة على استدامة نجاحاتها في ظل التحديات التي يشهدها السوق.

وعلّق صاج أحمد، وهو محلل الطيران في معهد أبحاث StrategicAero، لـCNNMoney قائلاً: "إنه في حين حققت الاتحاد للطيران نجاحاً مع الخطوط الجوية الصربية وطيران سيشل، كانت تصارع للالتفاف حول طيران برلين واليطاليا."

وأضاف أحمد أن الاتحاد للطيران لا تزال في وضع جيد، ولكنها قد تمضي قدما في إطار استراتيجية مختلفة.

يذكر أن هوجن كان رئيس شركة طيران أبوظبي منذ عام 2006. وتحت قيادته، نمت الشركة لتصبح واحدة من 3 شركات طيران خليجية رئيسية، حيث تتنافس مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية وطيران الإمارات.

وبحسب وكالة الأنباء الاماراتية، تخدم رحلات الاتحاد للطيران اليوم ما يصل إلى 18.5 مليون ضيف وتصل إلى 112 وجهة عبر أسطول يضم 120 طائرة إضافة إلى 178 طائرة تحت الطلب.
