دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)—وصف رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، بنيامين نتنياهو، الأحد، سلطان عُمان، قابوس بن عيسى بأنه صاحب خبرة طويلة ومبهرة، وذلك بعد زيارة قام بها إلى السلطنة، قبل أيام.

جاء ذلك في تغريدة لنتياهو على صفحته بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي، تويتر، حيث قال: "عدت يوم الجمعة من زيارة دبلوماسية تاريخية إلى سلطنة عمان حيث التقيت الزعيم العماني السلطان قابوس بن سعيد. إنه زعيم صاحب خبرة طويلة ومبهر جدا. هذه هي الزيارة الأولى لإسرائيل في عُمان منذ 22 عاما وهي تأتي على خلفية جهود دبلوماسية بذلتها خلال السنوات الأخيرة إزاء الدول العربية".

وحول الأمور التي بحثها مع السلطان قابوس، قال نتنياهو في تغريدة منفصلة: "في لقائي المطول مع السلطان قابوس بحثنا بشكل موسع التحديات التي يواجهها الشرق الأوسط. كانت هذه محادثات هامة لدولة إسرائيل ولأمنها. ستكون هناك المزيد من هذه المحادثات".

وفي تغريدة سابقة وصف نتنياهو الزيارة قائلا إنها "تشكل خطوة ملموسة في إطار تنفيذ سياسة رئيس الوزراء التي تسعى إلى تعزيز العلاقات الإسرائيلية مع دول المنطقة من خلال إبراز الخبرات الإسرائيلية في مجالات الأمن والتكنولوجيا والاقتصاد".
