دبي، الإمارات العريية المتحدة (CNN)— هنأ المُتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، عباس موسوي، اليهود بمناسبة العام اليهودي الجديد.

وفي تغريدة كتبها بلغات ثلاث، هي الفارسية والإنجليزية والعبرية، قال موسوي في حسابه على تويتر: "سنة جديدة سعيدة لمواطنينا اليهود ولجميع الأتباع الحقيقيين للنبي العظيم موسى صلى الله عليه وسلم".

في وقت سابق، أرسل مساعد الرئيس الإيراني الخاص لشؤون الأقليات العرقية والدينية، علي يونس، رسالة إلى الشعب اليهودي الإيراني، مُتمنيًا فيها "السلام والنجاح والكرامة للإيرانيين اليهود".

وتشير تقديرات إلى أن عدد اليهود في إيران بلغ ما يزيد عن 100 ألف شخص، قبيل الإطاحة بشاه إيران محمد رضا بهلوي في عام 1979.

ومع اندلاع الثورة الإسلامية في 1979، انخفض عدد اليهود إلى أقل من 9 آلاف نتيجة الهجرة المتتالية لهم إلى إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بحسب الإذاعة الأمريكية الوطنية (ان بي آر).
