دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)—وفقًا لبيانات نشرتها منظمة الصحة العالمية ومنظمة اليونيسيف استخدم 54٪ من سكان العالم (4.2 مليار شخص) خدمات الصرف الصحي المدارة بأمان في عام 2020. التقديرات الوطنية متاحة لـ 120 دولة و7 من أصل 8 مناطق تهدف للتنمية المستدامة، لتمثل 81٪ من سكان العالم. وتشير التقديرات بأنه ثلثا أولئك الذين ما زالوا يفتقرون إلى الخدمات الأساسية يعيشون في المناطق الريفية، ونصفهم تقريبا يعيشون في أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء الكبرى.
