وُلد في بلدة ناظمية بولاية تونجلي التركية

1971

أكمل دراسته الجامعية في أكاديمية أنقرة للتجارة والاقتصاد (كلية العلوم الاقتصادية والإدارية في جامعة غازي)

بدأ مسيرته العملية في وزارة المالية

1983

تم تعيينه في الإدارة العامة للإيرادات وتدرج بالمناصب إلى أن أصبح نائبا للمدير العام.

1992

بدأ العمل في مؤسسة الضمان الاجتماعي وكان مديرا عاما لإدارتها لمدة عامين بين 1997 و1999.

2002

تم انتخابه عضوا في البرلمان التركي عن حزب الشعب الجمهوري

2010

انتُخب زعيما لحزب الشعب الجمهوري في الكونغرس الاعتيادي الـ33 للحزب في 22 مايو/أيار

2020

مُنح ثقة حزبه للاستمرار في مركز القيادة

تم ترشحيه للانتخابات الرئاسية التركية

حياته الشخصية

متزوج من سيلفي كليتشدار أوغلو المولودة عام 1974 في تونجلي أيضا وله منها بنتان وولد، وعملت زوجته كصحفية، لكنها تركت المهنة بعد تسمية زوجها زعيما لحزب الشعب الجمهوري.
