دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)-- تم الإبلاغ عن 259،848 حالة إصابة جديدة لفيروس "كوفيد-19" لمنظمة الصحة العالمية خلال آخر 24 ساعة، وفقاً لما هو مذكور في تقرير نشرته المنظمة السبت.

وبذلك، وصل عدد حالات الإصابة التي تم الإبلاغ عنها لمنظمة الصحة العالمية إلى 13.8 مليون. 

ويشكل هذا الارتفاع في الحالات المُبلغ عنها حديثاَ بمثابة رقم قياسي جديد لعدد الحالات التي أُبلغ عنها لمنظمة الصحة العالمية خلال 24 ساعة.

وتم تسجيل الرقم القياسي السابق الجمعة، وذلك عندما تم الإبلاغ عن 237،743 حالة جديدة لإصابات فيروس كورونا المستجد.

وأشار التقرير الذي نُشر السبت إلى أنه تم الإبلاغ عن 7،360 حالة وفاة إضافية ناجمة عن فيروس "كوفيد-19" للمنظمة في آخر 24 ساعة، ووصل بذلك إجمالي عدد الوفيات حول العالم إلى 593،087.
