دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN) -- شارك ولي عهد البحرين الأمير سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة، في المرحلة الثالثة من تجارب لقاح فيروس كورونا في البحرين.

وتُجرى التجارب السريرية للمرحلة الثالثة بالتعاون مع مجموعة " G42" المتخصصة في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي والحوسبة السحابية ومقرها أبو ظبي باستخدام لقاح طورته " Sinopharm CNBG"، سادس أكبر منتج للقاحات في العالم.

وسيشارك ما يصل إلى 6000 متطوع في تجارب البحرين، سيتم اختيارهم من بين أولئك الذين يستوفون المعايير الطبية المطلوبة. وتتضمن التجربة السريرية إعطاء لقاح للمتطوعين المختارين، من أجل دراسة فعالية إنتاج الأجسام المضادة وحمايتها من الفيروس.

وقال ولي عهد البحرين: "لقد تشرفت اليوم بالوقوف جنبًا إلى جنب مع متطوعي اللقاحات لدينا ، حيث صمم كل واحد منهم على أداء دوره في العمل لحماية الآخرين ، ليس فقط في المنزل في مملكتنا ، ولكن في جميع أنحاء العالم، مضيفاً: "تتطلب هذه الأزمة العالمية استجابة عالمية. في البحرين، نحن فخورون بأن نقول إننا خطينا للأمام وتحملنا المسؤولية ، أولاً في المشاركة في العلاج واختبار أفضل الممارسات، والآن في دعم اختبار اللقاح الآمن وتطويره".
