ويُعتبر مرض الإيدز حالة مرضية تتسبب في إضعاف جهاز المناعة، وتعطيله، ويُصاب الجسم به في حال لم يتم علاج فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية، بحسب ما ذكره الحساب الرسمي لـ"برنامج سلامتك" وهو من مبادرات مجلس الصحة الخليجي بتغريدة على "تويتر".

أما فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية، فيُصيب خلايا الدم البيضاء المسؤولة عن الدّفاع في الجسم، ما يجعله عرضة للإصابة بالأمراض.

وإليك الفرق بين الإيدز وفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية:

  • الأعراض

الإيدز: تظهر الأعراض بشكلٍ بارز نتيجةً لتلف الجهاز المناعي لدى المصاب

فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية: قد لا تظهر أي أعراض، وإن ظهرت، فهي قد تبدو مثل أعراض الإنفلونزا

  • قابلية السيطرة عليه

الإيدز: يتفاقم المرض إذا تأخر اكتشافه، وتصعب السيطرة على أعراضه

فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية: يمكن السيطرة على أعراض المرض عند اكتشافها ومعالجتها مبكرًا

  • التأثير على عمر المصاب

الإيدز: قد يتوفّى الشخص خلال 3 أعوام إذا لم يتابع حالته بالعلاج المناسب

فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية: يمكن للمصاب العيش لفترة طويلة مع المحافظة على تناول الأدوية بشكلٍ دوري

وأكّدت التغريدة أيضًا أنه لا يمكن لشخص أن يُصاب بالإيدز إلا إذا كان مصابًا بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية، ولم تتم معالجته، وقد يُصاب الشخص بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية دون الإصابة بمرض الإيدز.
