دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)-- أعلن وزير الرياضة السعودي، الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي الفيصل، أنه سيتم تكريم لاعب الكاراتيه طارق حامدي بمنحه 5 ملايين ريال سعودي (1.3 مليون دولار أمريكي).

ويأتي إعلان المسؤول السعودي رغم خسارة حامدي الميدالية الذهبية لوزن 75 وما فوق أمام نظيره الإيراني سجاد كنج زادة في أولمبياد طوكيو 2020، السبت، بسبب مخالفة.

وكتب وزير الرياضة السعودي في حسابه عبر تويتر: "لأنه البطل في عيوننا جميعاً فسيتم تكريم بطلنا الأولمبي طارق حامدي بجائزة الميدالية الذهبية وقدرها (5 ملايين ريال) نظير تميزه وإبداعه وتمثيله المشرف للوطن أمام نجوم العالم في طوكيو 2020".

وأضاف المسؤول السعودي: "تستاهل يا بطل والمستقبل أمامك بإذن الله".

كانت خسارة حامدي الميدالية الذهبية أمام منافسه الإيراني، أثارت جدلا واسعًا وغضبًا في الأوساط السعودية متهمين الحكم بالتحيز للاعب الإيراني.

وخسر حامدي بعد أن وجه ركلة قوية إلى القسم العلوي من جسد اللاعب الإيراني ما أدى إلى معاقبته بما يٌسمى "عقوبة هانسوكو" رغم أنه كان متفوقا بنتيجة 4-1.
