دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)—تناولت أبرز الصحف العالمية "الصدمة" التي أحدثها المنتخب السعودي لكرة القدم بالفوز على المنتخب الأرجنتيني بهدفين مقابل هدف في المباراة التي أقيمت بينهما، الثلاثاء ضمن مباريات كأس العالم 2022 بقطر.

ونشرت صحيفة واشنطن بوست تقريرا قالت فيه: "من TheAthleticFC: خسرت الأرجنتين بقيادة ليونيل ميسي 2-1 أمام السعودية في المباراة الافتتاحية لكأس العالم.. ميسي لديه صفقة مربحة للترويج للسعودية التي ترغب في استضافة كأس العالم 2030، وكذلك الأرجنتين.. إنه وضع غريب أن تكون فيه".

وكتبت صحيفة واشنطن بوست تقريرا حمل عنوان "فوز السعودية بكأس العالم على الأرجنتين يوحد الشرق الأوسط المنقسم بالاحتفالات"، حيث ألقت الضوء على أن "نتيجة 2-1 احتفل بها المسلمون والعرب في كل مكان على أنها انتصار لهم. في جميع أنحاء الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا وجنوب شرق آسيا والشرق الأوسط، وجد الناس الفخر والسعادة في فوز السعودية على فريق اشتهر بأنه أقوى بكثير".

ونشرت صحيفة ديلي ميل البريطانية تقريرا قالت فيه: "صدمة عدم التصديق كان رد فعل مشجعي الأرجنتين بعد أن عانى ليونيل ميسي وزملاؤه من أكبر الاضطرابات في تاريخ كأس العالم بهزيمة مفاجئة أمام المنتخب السعودي.."
