دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN) -- أعلن الاتحاد العربي لكرة القدم، الإثنين، إطلاق مسمى "كأس الملك سلمان للأندية" على البطولة العربية للأندية في نسختها المقبلة، التي تقام خلال العام الحالي 2023.

وأوضح الاتحاد العربي أن هذه التسمية تأتي "اعتزازًا وتقديرًا" للعاهل السعودي، الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز.
 

وغرّد عبد العزيز بن تركي الفيصل، رئيس الاتحاد العربي لكرة القدم، عبر حسابه في تويتر: "اعتزازًا بالدعم الكبير الذي يحظى به الاتحاد العربي لكرة القدم من مقام مولاي خادم الحرمين الشريفين.. يسرني وزملائي أعضاء مجلس إدارة الاتحاد الإعلان عن تسمية بطولة الأندية العربية 2023 باسم ‎#كأس_الملك_سلمان_للأندية".

وتقرر أن يشارك في بطولة الأندية العربية 37 ناديًا عربيًا، على أن تبلغ قيمة جوائزها المالية أكثر من 10 ملايين دولار.

وكان نادي الرجاء المغربي آخر الفائزين بلقب البطولة في أغسطس/ آب 2021، على حساب نادي اتحاد جدة السعودي، وحينها حملت البطولة مسمى "كأس محمد السادس"، نسبةً لملك المغرب.
