دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN) -- احتل مطار دبي الدولي، المرتبة الأولى على قائمة أكبر مطارات العالم بأعداد المسافرين الدوليين خلال العام 2014، محققاً بذلك انجازاً جديداً لصناعة الطيران في دبي.

 وأظهرت احصاءات مطارات دبي ارتفاع بعدد المسافرين الذين استخدموا المطار في العام الماضي إلى 70 مليونا و 475 ألفا و 636 مسافرا، بنسبة زيادة بلغت 6.1 في المائة، مقارنة مع 66 مليونا  و431 ألفا و533 مسافرا سجلها العام 2013.

 وقال رئيس هيئة دبي للطيران المدني رئيس مطارات دبي الشيخ أحمد بن سعيد آل مكتوم إن "الهدف المشترك هو جعل دبي مركزاً عالمياً للطيران، ونحن على مقربة من تحقيق ذلك الهدف، ويعود ذلك الى سياسة الأجواء المفتوحة وبيئة الأعمال الصحية وجاذبية دبي المستمرة كمركز للتجارة والسياحة، بالإضافة الى نمو وتوسع شبكتنا، ومشاريع البنية التحتية في قطاع الطيران."

وأشارت الإحصاءات إلى أن الزيادة في استخدام الطائرات ذات الحجم الكبير، أدت الى زيادة عدد المسافرين لكل رحلة بنسبة 5.1 في المائة، أي ما يعادل 208.3 مسافر في العام الماضي.

وحول توقعات أعداد المسافرين الذين سيستخدمون المطار في العام 2015، قال نائب الرئيس في مطارات دبي جمال الحاي: "نتوقع ارتفاع أعداد المسافرين في العام الحالي إلى 79 مليون مسافر دولي، بفضل تعاظم دور دبي كمركز اقتصادي وتجاري وسياحي عالمي والخدمات المميزة التي يوفرها المطار للناقلات الجوية والتوسع الكبير في رحلات وأسواق طيران الامارات وفلاي دبي وبقية الناقلات الاخرى."
