(CNN) – أعلن الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، الخميس، إنهاء التعاقد مع مدرب المنتخب الأول، الإيطالي روبيرتو مانشيني، مشيرا إلى أنه سيُعلن عن اسم المدرب المقبل خلال الأيام المقبلة. 

وجاء في بيان نشره الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم على "إكس"، تويتر سابقا: "توصل مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم ومدرب المنتخب الوطني الإيطالي، روبرتو مانشيني، اليوم لاتفاق مشترك يتضمن انتهاء العلاقة التعاقدية".

وأردف الاتحاد السعودي في بيانه بالقول: "ويتقدم المجلس بالشكر للسيد للسيد روبرتو مانشيني متمنين له التوفيق في مسيرته". 

وختم الاتحاد السعودي بيانه بالقول: "ويؤكد مجلس الإدارة أن اسم المدرب القادم للمنتخب الوطني سيُعلن خلال الأيام القليلة المقبلة بعد الانتهاء من إجراءات التعاقد بصفة نهائية ورسمية"، وفقا للبيان. 

وعُين مانشيني مدربا للمنتخب السعودي في أواخر أغسطس/آب من عام 2023 خلفا للمدرب الفرنسي هيرفي رونار. 

ولم تكن نتائج المنتخب السعودي مع مانشيني على قدر التوقعات، إذ خرج من دور الـ16 من كأس آسيا وحقق انطلاقة مخيبة بالمرحلة النهائية لتصفيات كأس العالم إذ جمع 5 نقاط من 4 مباريات.
