دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN) -- اشتهرت صور فوتوغرافية باللونين الأسود والأبيض لجبال النوبة في السودان، التقطها المصور الفوتوغرافي جورج روجير. 

وسافر روجير إلى جنوب السودان بين العامين 1948 و1949، ليصبح بذلك أول مصور أجنبي تمنحة الحكومة السودانية تأشيرة التصوير. وتعد صوره بمثابة توثيق تاريخي لعادات وتقاليد القبائل المختلفة في السودان، كما اعتبرت باكورة الاتفاق الأول بين السلطات السودانية والمصورين الأجانب.

وبسبب إعجابه بالأشخاص والتقاليد المختلفة التي لاحظها، قرر روجير مشاركة تجربته في جبال النوبة مع العالم عن طريق الصور الفوتوغرافية. 

ووصف روجير سكان جبال النوبة بالشجاعة، قائلاً: "عندما غادرنا جبال النوبة، أخذنا معنا ذكرى لشعب مضياف ومغوار ورحيم، على عكس الكثير من السكان الذين يسكنون في القارات المظلمة خارج أفريقيا."

وكتب عديد من النقاد والمثقفين عن جبال النوبة من خلال الصور الفوتوغرافية، وظهرت الصور للمرة الأولى في " ناشينال جيوغرافيك" في العام 1951، ونشرت دراسة بعنوان "داي نوبا" حول الصور الفوتوغرافية في العام 1970 بقلم ليني ريفينستال، الذي علق على صور روجير قائلاً "الأنماط الفنية في الصورة، والتفاصيل المعبرة لرجال النوبة، أعطتني الكثير من الإلهام."

ويُذكر، أن روجير كان مراسلاً لمجلة "لايف" أثناء الحرب العالمية الثانية بين العامين 1939 و1947، وغطّى في تلك الفترة كثيراً من الحروب والدمار.
