دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)-- وصف محافظ البنك المركزي المصري طارق عامر، الخميس، قرار تحرير صرف الجنيه بأنه "خطوة تاريخية وغير مسبوقة"، تهدف إلى تصحيح أسلوب إدارة الموارد المالية حسب القواعد العالمية وتحقيق آمال الشعب المصري.

وقال عامر مازحاً، في رد على أحد الصحفيين خلال مؤتمر عن قرار البنك المركزي بتعويم الجنيه، إن "الشارع المصري النهاردة مبسوط، حتى مراتي مبسوطة الوديعة بتاعتها بتعمل فلوس"، وذلك في إشارة إلى زيادة نسبة الفائدة على الودائع مع تحرير سعر الصرف.  

وأكد عامر أنه لا تراجع عن سياسة تحرير سعر الصرف، لكن شدد في الوقت نفسه أن البنك المركزي "جاهز لإجراء تغيير في السياسة النقدية دائما من أجل العمل على استقرار مستوى الأسعار ووضعها تحت السيطرة قدر الإمكان".

وقال محافظ البنك المركزي المصري إن بلاده تأمل باستكمال برنامج القرض البالغة قيمته 12 مليار دولار من صندوق النقد الدولي خلال الأيام المقبلة، وأضاف أن "البنك المركزي والحكومة استطاعا الحصول على تأكيدات تمويلية من أجل غلق الفجوة التمويلية وقدرها 16.3 مليار دولار للعام المالي 2016-2017. وتم الحصول على تأكيدات من خلال صندوق النقد ومجموعة السبع وبعض الدول العربية والصين".
